May 2014 Highlights

This has been a month of traveling. We already reported our trip to Rhode Island early in the month. At the end of the month we went to visit Rich & Ginny at their cabin in California and Diane's parents in Washington. (Watch for the separate blog).

We started the month with Andrea's birthday. It is fun having the family live with us so we can celebrate together.
I'm not really that old, am I?

The whole family (with parts cut off)
Kamary has been working very hard with rehearsals for the musical "Into the Woods" at the middle school. We were glad they had their first performance before we left for The ASA conference in Rhode Island. She played one of Cinderella's wicked step sisters (a part that fit her very well). She did a good job and it was a lot of fun.

Of course at home we see a different side of Kamary.
Taming of the shrew? - No, just dramatics
May is graduation month. Hanna finished the 10th grade, Kamary finished 8th grade and will be at Logan High School next year with Hanna, Alyssa finished the 5th grade and will be at Mount Logan Middle school next year, Kohler goes on to the 4th grade and Lauren to the 2nd grade at Hillcrest Elementary School, and Brynlie graduated from pre-school and will start kindergarden at Hillcrest. At least we were able to attend one graduation ceremony --- Brynlie's.
Nice smile for Brynlie

Of course Andrea and Alyssa continue playing the cello and performing in cello recitals.

It has been warm enough to get the garden started early this year. We hope some added natural fertilizer will help it grow. Most of the yard is in good shape, except for weeding the giant grove (the whole yard) from tree seeds that dropped last year. We added our little pond to the herb garden.

Memorial Day brings time to remember those who came before us. On the Saturday before Memorial Day, as tradition continues, we went to decorate graves in Ogden. We are very grateful for our ancestors who brought us so much and taught us the Gospel of Jesus Christ in our homes.
