October is our favorite month. We celebrate Diane's birthday and our anniversary during October. The month started with General Conference. We enjoy listening to all of the sessions. On the Saturday of conference we were able to take a little walk up Green Canyon. We are out of shape.

We decided to get away to Park City for Diane's birthday. She is officially a senior citizen. We left after lunch and decided to go the scenic path. We went to Ogden and up North Ogden Canyon.

We went
through Liberty, Eden, Huntsville, Mountain Green, and Morgan.

Our hotel, just outside of Park City, was a busy place; they had a women's
ministry conference and a soccer team from Colorado in the hotel. We went into Park
City and ate at Bandits Grill and Bar then walked up and down main street.

We then walked down and up the main street and looked in a few more
stores, including the outlet stores.

We said goodbye to Park City and went to Salt Lake for the Home Show at the South Towne Center. We gathered a lot of information for fixing up our house. The Property Brothers were supposed to be there, but we did not see them, though. I
guess they left before we got there. We then went to a Gluten-free
Expo in the same building and tried some gluten-free treats.

Diane saw an ad for senior living in Payson, Utah so we decided to check it out the weekend before our anniversary. Payson is one of the towns we have considered for living.
Oct 21 (Fri)
We arrived in Payson a little after noon. We found an Indian restaurant that had a lunch buffet. Most of the dishes were gluten-free. We then went to a 55+ housing community to check it out. The model home was nice, but the price is a little high for us.

We then went to the Payson Temple. The session was just starting so we left and went for a little ride to Spring Lake and watched the ducks swimming in the lake.

We then went back to the temple for the 2:30 session. It was very nice.

We stayed in the Hampton Inn in south Provo. The cost was more than we could get on-line so we went out to the car and booked a room on-line with the iPhone then checked in. We then went to the BYU bookstore. Everything has changed there.

We then went to the Brick Oven for dinner where I had some gluten-free pizza. We stopped at Provo Towne Centre mall on the way back to the hotel and ran in to Eric and Destiny Mitchell. It was good to meet her.
Oct 22 (Sat)
We went to the Provo City Center Temple to take some pictures. We remember when we attended stake conference in the tabernacle and Diane had her BYU graduation ceremony there. It really looks better than as a tabernacle.
We stopped at Ikea in the south part of Salt Lake valley. We then had lunch at the Tuschar Brazilian Food restaurant close to where we lived in South Jordon on the South Salt Lake part of our mission. It was good food, but a little expensive, and more food than we needed.
We went to Gardner Village. They were having a Witch fest and it was very crowded. We parked across the street and took the Jordan River Trail to the other side. It is always fun to see their decorations at Halloween time. It was nice to see the Jordon River trail where we used to walk.

This was a nice outing for us.
We went to the Pumpkin Walk in North Logan on our anniversary. This is a fun tradition. Years ago they held it just up the street from our house. We then went to Beehive Grill for our anniversary dinner.
